Why You Should Use Natural Cosmetics

November 3, 2015 by Margarita Ismini

Why you should use natural cometics

This is a guest post by the lovely Amy Mia Goldsmith.

Ever since first commercial makeup kit was manufactured, cosmetics brands have been experimenting with innovative formulas and fresh ingredients on a quest for ultimate quality at an affordable price. The latest trend in personal care niche , natural products have taken the global market by a sudden sweep: boasting organic, premium-quality components and environmentally safe production procedures, the all-natural label promises lasting beauty, healthy looks and no negative side-effects that go hand in hand with synthetic items. Should you go green cosmetics-wise? Definitely yes – and here is why.

1. They are safe to use

Natural skin care products are much safer than synthetic alternatives as they are made from organic resources such as herbal extracts and essential oils. Free of hazardous petrochemicals , additives, preservatives, colors, solidifying agents and artificial fragrances, natural regimens will not trigger irritation, rashes, itchiness, inflammation and similar negative reactions of the skin and scalp. Organic items are hypo-allergenic and dermatologically tested for safe use anytime, anywhere – and by anyone, including children.

2. They are earth-friendly

Synthetic cosmetics negatively impact the environment through chemical waste and pollution of air, water and soil. Not so with natural products: comprising clean, organic ingredients and often delivered in recyclable packaging, organic skin care entails minimal carbon footprint and hazardous waste, and will not affect either the human health or the planet if absorbed in the original or diluted form.

3. They are nutrient-rich

Natural personal care products feature highly nourishing ingredients such as green tea, maracuja oil, shea butter and argan oil, all of which have been in use for centuries due to their health-beneficial effects. For instance, green tea is a potent antioxidant with proven anti-aging effects; shea butter is rich in vitamins D and E and essential fatty acids necessary for deep skin hydration and it is also a superb healing remedy. Argan oil is a first-rate moisturizer that promotes skin healing, while maracuja oil is another organic antioxidant with skin and scalp soothing properties. Now imagine all that healthy goodness in a single bottle – the very thought of the nutritious creamy treat is enough to make your skin glow! I use and recommend Miranda Kerr’s KORA Organics Beautifying Pack that I got from Peters of Kensington. It packs superior ingredients such as jojoba, avocado, rosehip, noni, chamomile and aloe that simultaneously cleanse, repair, hydrate and rejuvenate the skin.

4. They are good for all skin types

Natural cosmetics can be used regardless of individual skin type differences. People with dark and fair complexion can use organic eye shadows, mascaras, blushes, foundations, body lotions, lipsticks and shampoos to an equally rewarding effect. Thanks to their balanced, nourishing formulas, natural beauty products will not cause or aggravate conditions such as acne, freckles or oily skin, so they are perfect for ladies and gents with dry, sensitive, normal and greasy skin types alike. In fact, a number of organic products are more efficient than their synthetic counterparts in the long run as their effects become manifest gradually – which is healthier than with stringent chemical-laden solutions that work instantaneously but with regular use often entail long-term damage.

5. They have no strange side effects

Common side-effects of synthetic beauty products include skin irritation, redness, itchiness, dry patches and acne breakouts. Natural products, on the other hand, can be used without fear that you may wake up to a ghastly complexion: they are designed to work for your skin and not against it. Plus, free of artificial fragrances, organic items have a natural scent and will not cause headaches or nausea if applied to excess.
Green beauty is rapidly gaining popularity throughout the world, and even celebrities and Hollywood makeup artists prefer natural cosmetics over synthetic products. By opting for natural personal care, you will be working in tune with nature, which will promote your health, youthful looks and a clean environment. Let’s be honest: with nature fighting in your corner, you have everything to win, and nothing to lose.
